You can make a difference in our school community!

Our SCC provides a forum for parents and other members of the school community to contribute to the improvement of student achievement and school performance. The council makes recommendations to principals and the Board on matters they believe relevant. Whether through attending meetings, sharing ideas and information, or partaking in various Board initiatives, we have found parents ' advice to be extremely thoughtful, caring and beneficial to enriching the fabric of students ' learning and development.

What are the benefits of becoming involved in your School Community Council?

  • You will become an important partner in the education system
  • You will contribute to the shared goal of improving student achievement
  • You can use the SCC as a vehicle to express your opinions on relevant issues
  • You will be kept informed about what is happening at your child 's school and the Board
  • It is a rewarding experience that will make a difference in your child 's education

How can you become a member of the SCC?

Potential new members can let their interest be known to the principal or current members of our council. We always strive to reflect the diversity of the school. The majority of our council consists of parents but will also include the principal, a teacher and/or other community representation.

The School Community Council meets once a month at Osprey Central School. All members of the school community are welcome to attend these meetings. Meetings are held in the library and babysitting is available, if you contact the school in advance.
